” The Job Description”

  1. Design, Install and operate the Network Area Storage (NAS) infrastructure and work on continuous improvement for the performance while ensuring high standard of security and vulnerabilities remediation.
  2. Configure, maintain and manage continuous data protection for databases and all systems and support during recovery of those database and critical systems.
  3. Review the storage platforms and SAN switches software and firmware life cycles review vendors functional and security newsletters and carry out software and firmware upgrades, apply fixes and security patches.
  4. Ensure all storage platforms and SAN switches, storage replication and continuous data protection are monitored, logging, alerting and notifications are enabled/configured along with employing specialized monitoring tools for each storage and SAN connectivity technology.
  5. Perform large scale migrations and upgrades during storage technology refreshes and capacity upgrades to provide better storage performance, and connectivity along with storage resources availability.
  6. Troubleshoot storage performance, connectivity issues, replication and continuous data protection issues along with providing root cause analysis and provide support to other teams during issues.
  7. Perform on-going tuning, capacity efficiency, provisioning, cleansing and resources reclamation to ensure that storage resources are being utilized optimally and to ensure the availability of storage resources.
  8. Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the implementation and deployment of storage solutions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with other IT infrastructure components and applications.
  10. Conduct regular audits and assessments of storage systems to identify areas for optimization, improvement, and risk mitigation.
  11. Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in storage backup technologies, recommending and implementing innovative solutions as appropriate.
  12. Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and key stakeholders on storage backup strategy, architecture, and investments.
  13. Perform other responsibilities as required by higher levels of supervision.
    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., EMC Storage Administrator, IBM SVC, NetApp Certified Data Administrator) preferred.
  • A minimum of Four (4) years of experience in storage solutions or a related field for Specialist level.
  • 0-4 years of experience for Analyst level.
  • 3-6 years of experience in operations, designing, architecting, and implementing storage solutions in complex enterprise environments.
