” The Job Description”
- Configure, monitor, administer, and maintain backup environment including Backup servers, backup storage, network configuration and clients.
- Handle the configuration of backup solution on requested servers.
- Perform daily monitoring and management of all backup related activities, including executing restore jobs, troubleshooting failed jobs, and initiating corrective action.
- Perform diagnosis, troubleshoot, and conduct root-cause analysis for any issues escalated on the backup platforms.
- Ensure backups are run to schedule and retention is met. Configure Lan, Lan free daily, weekly & monthly backups.
- Maintain an audit trail of backups and restores.
- Perform disaster recovery tests & regular backup Restore test and validation.
- Participate in the building, installation, configuration and testing of servers, storage, and backup infrastructure for new use, upgrades or lifecycle replacement.
- Perform other responsibilities as required by higher levels of supervision.
- Perform backup system migration activities.
- Perform Media management operations.
- Perform TSM Backup system upgrade, update, patching and vulnerability fixes.
- Maintain Update archive and offline backup solution.
- Perform restore as requested.
15. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
16. 8+ years of experience in Operations, designing, architecting, and implementing IBM TSM backup solutions in complex enterprise environments for lead level.
