” The Job Description”
1. Delivery & Portfolio Management
- Own end-to-end tracking of strategic initiatives across all directorate functions, ensuring milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and risks are clearly visible and proactively managed.
- Build and maintain a single source of truth through dashboards and project trackers to provide accurate, real-time visibility on portfolio status.
- Proactively identify delays, risks, and dependencies, escalating potential issues before they impact delivery.
- Establish and manage structured weekly and monthly review cadences to monitor progress and hold workstream owners accountable for deliverables.
2. Executive & Strategic Support
- Act as a strategic thought partner to the Senior Director, synthesizing complex information into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Prepare board-level and executive committee materials, briefing documents, presentations, and decision papers on behalf of the Senior Director.
- Represent the Senior Director in selected meetings, ensuring priorities, decisions, and key messages are communicated consistently.
- Support senior leadership in preparing for critical meetings, decisions, and strategic discussions.
3. Governance & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the central coordination point across Actuarial, Commercial Finance, Financial Control, Planning & Strategy, and Investor Relations teams.
- Manage the regulatory and reporting calendar, ensuring all cross-functional submissions are complete, accurate, and delivered on time.
- Establish effective governance mechanisms to ensure alignment, transparency, and accountability across functions.
- Identify process gaps and drive standardization, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives across the directorate.
4. Special Projects
- Lead high-visibility, ad hoc strategic projects assigned directly by the Senior Director.
- Support initiatives such as M&A activities, new function design, operating model reviews, and other strategic transformation projects.
- Develop structured plans, coordinate stakeholders, track actions, and ensure successful execution of special projects.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or another relevant quantitative field.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in PMO, Strategy, Chief of Staff, Management Consulting, or a similar strategic delivery role.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, technology, startups, or other regulated industries is preferred.
- MBA or relevant professional certification such as PMP or PgMP is a plus.
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder portfolios within matrixed organizations.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI and experience developing management dashboards and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with project and portfolio management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
