” The Job Description”
- Bonus Advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE) are highly desirable.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Proficiency in developing DR strategies and plans, including data backup, recovery procedures, and failover processes.
- DR Tools and Software: Familiarity with DR tools and software such as VMware Site Recovery Manager, Veeam Backup & Replication, Carbonite and Zerto.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud-based DR solutions ( Azure Site Recovery, Google Cloud DR,..etc).
- Networking: Understanding of network architecture and protocols, especially as they relate to DR scenarios.
- Storage Solutions: Knowledge of storage replication technologies and strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and document DR plans and runbooks.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 3-4 years focused on disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing DR plans and strategies.
- Experience in conducting DR runbooks development, drill testing and audits.
- Assess Risk: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats to IT infrastructure and data.
- Develop Strategies: Create comprehensive DR plans, including data backup, system recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Documentation: Write detailed DR runbooks that outline step-by-step recovery procedures.
- Deploy DR Solutions: Implement DR tools and technologies to ensure data protection and system availability.
- Regular Updates: Update DR plans and runbooks regularly to reflect changes in the IT environment and emerging threats.
- Compliance: Ensure that DR plans comply with industry (mainly banking) standards and regulations.
- DR Drills: Plan and execute regular DR drills to test the effectiveness of recovery procedures.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of DR solutions and make adjustments as necessary.
- Audit and Review: Conduct audits to ensure that all DR measures are up to date and effective.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support during actual disaster recovery events.
