” The Job Description”

  1. SCADA System Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of client’s existing SCADA systems, including hardware, software, communication protocols, and data acquisition processes. Identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  2. Solution Design and Planning: Collaborate with clients to design and plan SCADA solutions tailored to their specific operational requirements. Develop detailed system architecture, including network topology, data flow, database design, HMI (Human Machine Interface) design, and security measures.
  3. SCADA System Implementation: Oversee the implementation of SCADA systems, including hardware and software installation, configuration, and integration with existing infrastructure. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful deployment.
  4. System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SCADA systems with other industrial automation systems, such as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs, DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems). Ensure seamless data exchange and interoperability between different systems.
  5. Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect SCADA systems from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to SCADA security and compliance. Conduct security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate solutions.
  6. Performance Optimization: Analyze SCADA system performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Implement strategies to enhance system responsiveness, data acquisition efficiency, and overall operational performance.
  7. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to clients for SCADA system issues. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems to ensure uninterrupted system operation.
  8. Training and Documentation: Conduct training sessions for client staff to ensure effective usage and maintenance of SCADA systems. Develop comprehensive documentation, including system design specifications, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  9. Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously update knowledge and skills regarding emerging SCADA technologies, protocols, and best practices. Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to provide innovative solutions to clients.
    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified SCADA Security Architect) are a plus.
  • 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting SCADA systems in industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA system architecture, protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3), and data acquisition processes.
  • Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, Siemens WinCC) and HMI design principles.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, DCS, and MES.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices for SCADA systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Project management abilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed.
