Data Governace Tool Speclialist

” The Job Description”

1.  Lead the setup, configuration, and maintenance of data governance and metadata tools such as OvalEdge, Informatica EDC, and Collibra.
2.   Build and maintain enterprise data catalogs, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and lineage across systems.
3.   Collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to collect metadata and map data flows between systems.
4.   Enable automation of metadata ingestion from various sources like data warehouses, data lakes, BI tools, ETL processes, etc.
5.   Implement metadata harvesting and ensure ongoing synchronization of metadata across environments.
6.   Define and enforce metadata and governance standards, taxonomy, and data classification.
7.  Provide access control management, ensuring the right users have the correct roles and permissions across tools.
8.   Develop training materials and provide user training to increase adoption and understanding of governance tools.
9.  Monitor platform usage, performance, and user engagement to improve tool efficiency and ROI.
10.  Work with Compliance, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure governance tooling meets regulatory and security requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
    Requirements:
    

•   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in data governance and metadata management roles.
• Strong experience with at least two of the following tools: OvalEdge, Informatica EDC, Collibra, or equivalent platforms.
•   Solid understanding of data governance concepts such as metadata, data lineage, data quality, and data stewardship.
•   Familiarity with data integration and engineering platforms (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, Azure Data Factory).
•   Experience with relational databases and querying using SQL.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and data flows.
