Network Security Resident Engineer

” The Job Description”

1. Manage and support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, routing, Internet connectivity, Cisco switches, and FortiGate firewalls.
2. Administer and troubleshoot cloud networking, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, VPNs, private connectivity, firewalls, and load balancers.
3. Proactively monitor network and security infrastructure and respond to alerts.
4. Handle network, connectivity, performance, and security incidents within agreed SLA.
5. Coordinate with ISPs, cloud providers, OEMs, and third parties when required.
6. Perform approved configuration changes and maintain configuration backups and documentation.
7. Manage and coordinate patching, firmware updates, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
8. Support firewall policies, network segmentation, access controls, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
9. Monitor network performance and capacity and recommend improvements.
10. Maintain network diagrams, asset/configuration records, incident/change records, and operational reports.
11. Escalate complex issues to the Vendor’s L2/L3 Managed Services team as required.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Network & Security Operations / Managed Services.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking and FortiGate firewalls.
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VLAN, TCP/IP, routing, VPN, and network security.
• Experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL and SLA-based service management is preferred.
