Database Administrator (DBA)

” The Job Description”

1. Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
2. Monitor database performance and implement tuning improvements.
3. Ensure database security, backup, and recovery procedures are in place and tested regularly.
4. Design and implement database structures to support application development and reporting.
5. Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries and database schema.
6. Plan for capacity and storage growth, and ensure high availability of data.
7. Perform regular maintenance, patching, and upgrades of database systems.
8. Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
10. Maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and standards.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in database administration.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, and/or other RDBMS like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting and query optimization.
• Experience with database backup and recovery tools and strategies.
• Familiarity with replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
• Understanding of database security principles and access controls.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
