Sr. OpenShift Engineer

” The Job Description”

1. Install, configure, and maintain OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters.
2. Monitor cluster health, performance, and security, addressing issues proactively.
3. Implement and manage OpenShift upgrades and patches.
4. Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift Data Foundation (formerly OpenShift Container Storage).
5. Strong knowledge of Ceph, Rook, and persistent storage concepts.
6. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
7. Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native applications.
8. Support the deployment and management of containerized applications within OpenShift.
9. Configure and manage container networking, storage, and security policies.
10. Experience working with Kubernetes OKE on Public Cloud.
11. Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment using IAC like Terraform, monitoring, and management tasks.
12. Utilize tools like Ansible, Helm, or custom scripts to streamline operations.
13. Implement security best practices for OpenShift environments, including RBAC, network policies, and vulnerability management.
14. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.
15. Provide troubleshooting and resolution support for issues related to OpenShift clusters and containerized applications.
16. Collaborate with application developers and other teams to resolve performance and operational issues.
17. Create and maintain detailed documentation for OpenShift configurations, procedures, and best practices.
18. Provide training and support to team members and end-users as needed.
19. Analyze and optimize cluster performance and resource utilization.
20. Implement scaling strategies to handle varying loads and ensure high availability.
21. Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor infrastructure performance and implement auto-scaling and self-healing mechanisms.
22. Identify and automate repetitive operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
23. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems administration.
• Knowledge of Automation Tools such as IAC Terraform and Configuration Management as Ansible.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
•  Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
• Understanding of networking concepts, storage solutions, and security best practices in containerized environments.

Certifications (Required 2 or more ):

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (Ex280).
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Data Foundation Exam (EX370).
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in MultiCluster Management Exam (EX480).
• Managing Virtual Machines with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (DO316).
• Certified Kubernetes Administration (CKA) or relevant CKAD/CKS Certifications.
