” The Job Description”

  1. Design, develop, implement and maintain our core Oracle applications.
  2. Maintain our SQL / PLSQL processes.
  3. Ensure DB availability.
  4. Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls.
  5. Actively seek to optimise and simplify our architecture.
  6. Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the DB.
  7. Execution of data migration jobs and scripts as required.
  8. Assist the infrastructure team in sizing hardware used for the DB.
  9. Support and collaborate with product developers.
  10. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
  11. Create a reliable backup strategy. Ensure database backups are appropriately
  12. executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.
  13. Determine and document DB policies, procedures and standards.
  14. Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy and
  15. integrity. Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues.
  16. Ensure SLA’s & operational KPI’s are met, working as necessary with internal
  17. and external support functions when major incidents occur.
