” The Job Description”
- Install and configure Linux systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
- Manage users, groups, and permissions.
- Perform backup and recovery tasks.
- Monitor performance using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Automate tasks using Shell/Bash scripts or Ansible.
- Database Cluster Management: Set up and manage distributed databases such as PostgreSQL Cluster, MySQL Galera Cluster, MongoDB Replica Set.
- Ensure high availability and replication.
- Monitor database performance and optimize configurations.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Automate deployment and update processes.
- Integrate with monitoring and logging tools like ELK Stack or Grafana.
- Docker & Container Orchestration: Create and manage Docker containers for applications and services.
- Use Docker Compose or Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Secure containers and define resource limits (CPU/Memory).
- Cloud Administration:Manage cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Configure cloud-based storage, networks, and databases.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Data Center Management: Monitor and test hardware (servers, UPS, switches, firewalls).
- Set up virtualization environments using VMware, Proxmox, or KVM.
- Coordinate with maintenance and cooling teams to ensure service continuity.
- Network Security: Configure firewalls such as iptables, UFW, or pfSense.
- Monitor intrusion attempts and analyze logs.
- Implement data encryption, access control, and periodic security updates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems and infrastructure management.
- Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB.
- DevOps Tools: Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform.
- Containers: Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes.
- Cloud: AWS / Azure / GCP.
- Networking: TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, Firewalls, IDS/IPS.
- Monitoring Tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack .
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Time management and multitasking abilities.
- Teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
- Proactive thinking and incident response readiness.
Preferred certifications include:
1. RHCE / RHCSA (Red Hat).
2. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
3. Docker Certified Associate.
4. Kubernetes CKA/CKAD.
5. CompTIA Security+ / CEH .
