- Train highly skilled engineers in Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage.

- Design, implement, and maintain robust Linux-based systems, Veritas backup infrastructure, and SAN storage environments that meet the organization’s evolving needs.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and high performance of these components.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage.
- Lead and manage projects related to Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
- Coordinate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively.
- Forecast future requirements for Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage and plan accordingly to avoid capacity constraints.
- Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement strategies for virtualization, consolidation, and automation to improve performance and scalability.
- Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage.
- Test and maintain disaster recovery procedures to ensure their effectiveness.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure a coordinated response to incidents and disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements for Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage security and data protection.
- Implement security measures to protect these environments from vulnerabilities, threats, and unauthorized access.
- Regularly review and update security policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage processes, procedures, and standards.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency in team operations.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and documentation to support team collaboration and continuity.
Requirements:
- +7 years proven experience in managing teams focused on Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage in complex IT environments.
- Deep understanding of Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Veritas backup solutions (e.g., NetBackup, Backup Exec)
- SAN storage protocols and standards. Such as SAN, NAS, RAID, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, and SMB and SAN storage different platforms (IBM, EMC and Huawei Dorado).
- Experience with storage management software and tools (e.g., NetApp, EMC, IBM, Hitachi).
- Expertise in server hardware, virtualization, and networking technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Linux, Veritas backup, and SAN storage (e.g., Red Hat Certified System Administrator, Veritas NetBackup Certified Professional, CompTIA A+).
- Advanced Linux certification (e.g., RHCE, RHCA, CompTIA Linux+).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is beneficial.
- A strong understanding of IT security best practices is essential.
